Outpost Programs

The outpost program is an integral part of the summer camp experience. Scouts get an opportunity to have fun, learn new skills, and apply newly learned skills outside of the traditional summer camp environment.

For Outpost we meet at 4pm Tuesday - Thursday then hike up to the teepee village. Scouts and leaders build their own campfires and cook their own tin foil dinners. After dinner scout leaders go to the 9 hole luxury scoutmasters golf course. They get to play golf with their own homemade clubs (using all natural recourses of course). Scouts get the opportunity to do teambuilding and leadership building delta games as a patrol. We follow program time up with a fun campfire, and then don't worry the night is not over yet. After campfire we divide the scouts up into how many years they have been at a scout camp for their night hike where we tell them about the Legend of Targua and the Tribe of Targua.

Outpost is a great opportunity for troops and patrols to work together as a team, for scouts to have fun and for adult leaders to relax. When you come be prepared to have a good time because so far everyone has loved their night spent at outpost.

What to bring?

  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Ground cover
  • Full water bottle
  • mess kit (optional - we do have plates and forks)
  • change of clothes for next morning

Departure time for outpost is 4pm at the flag poles. Return time is 6:45am the following morning - just in time for breakfast :)
