Rock Climbing
For Climbing Merit Badge Scouts are taught about basic climbing procedure and safety, how to tie climbing knots, and how to belay. Then we let them apply the skills they have learned out on the rocks! We go climbing, and rappelling for the merit badge. Additionally, Scouts who have already earned the badge and want to climb for fun are welcome to come. Fridays we also run a free climbing session.
Sailing
The Hobie Cats are a type of catamaran that the scouts love. You don't have to have the small boat merit badge to participate. All we require is that a scout has passed their swim test and a staff member will teach them how to sail the Hobie Cat then the scouts are able to take them out on their own.
Mountain Biking
High Adventure offers a great 12 mile ride around the lake. We start here at camp then take a single track mountain bike trail that follows all around the edge of the lake. The view is beautiful, the ride is fun and we even stop at a local shop for milkshakes before riding back in to camp. The trail is great for beginners and it has a few rough spots that advanced mountain bikers love. This activity takes place Wednesdays from 9:30-12:30.
